The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Mining invites registered entities to make applications through its online trade portal at http://www.moatrade.gov.jm for the importation of chicken backs and necks. The period for applications under the revised regime will run from April 1 to April 8, 2025. Qualified entities will be contacted regarding these items. The Government is investing in research and development (R&D) to build resilience and sustainability in agriculture.

The investment includes the previously announced expenditure of $6.3 billion, over the next six years, in the renovation of Bodles in St. Catherine and other research facilities across the island.

The Government is reviewing duties on imported food with the aim of reducing these charges.
