Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, Hon. Floyd Green, says work has commenced to establish the site office for the Pedro Plains Irrigation Expansion Project in St. Elizabeth.

“So, having done the ceremonial ground-breaking for the Pedro Plains Irrigation Project recently, work has started in earnest to establish our site office. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, has strengthened mechanisation support for farmers in St. Elizabeth with the provision of a new tractor to the National Irrigation Commission’s (NIC) Hounslow office in Watchwell.

Farmers in southwest St. Elizabeth are set to benefit from greater efficiency in water supply with the commissioning of a new electric pump at the Beacon Water Filling Station in the parish on Friday (Aug. 15).
