Hon Audley Shaw (centre), Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries, along with (from left) Diana McIntyre-Pike, President/Founder Countrystyle Villages as Businesses and IIPT Caribbean President; Amanda Charles, Sustainable Tourism Specialist, Caribbean Tourism Organization; Annie Bertrand, Coordinator Productivity and Innovation in the Private Sector, Compete Caribbean; and Dr. Louis D’Amore, International Institute for Peace through Tourism Founder, at International Community Tourism Conference on November 13 at the University of the West Indies in St. St. Andrew. Minister Shaw encouraged the participants, representing Jamaican and Caribbean community tourism groups, not to see Airbnb as a competitor to community tourism but rather embrace it and use it as a platform to reach the world.
